Mooyoung Han

He is a professor at the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Seoul National University, since 1999. He is the director of Rainwater Research Center at the University. He obtained his BS and MS from Seoul National University, and PhD at the Univ. of Texas (1989). Prof. Han is now a fellow member of IWA and the chairman of IWA RWHM (Rainwater Harvesting and Management) specialist group. His major interest is in the particle separation processes such as flocculation, sedimentation and flotation. He received the 2005 Outstanding Publication Award by the AEESP (Association of Environmental Engineering and Science Professors). His major has been extended to Rainwater Harvesting and Management. He received many international award for his innovative projects in the design and practice of rainwater management (2010, 2012 PIA awards with the promotion of rain cities, 2012 and 2013 International Energy Globe Award with Innovative Green roof project). On 2018, he authored an IWA book about “Hydrological design of multipurpose micro-catchment rainwater management”. Recently he established the WASAT (Water and Sanitation Appropriate Technology) center at Hanoi to promote SDG 6.
